Below are some reviews of Sepang Gold Coast ( Golden Palm Tree Iconic Resort & Spa ) from Tripadvisor

“My partner and I stayed here in March and we loved it! It was a very relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.

We stayed in the Canary Villa which was spectacular and definitely worth the extra money. It was a great size with lovely fittings and sptolessly clean and well maintained. The balcony was extra special (you can’t beat watching the sun go down from your own balcony).

Food at the resort was great; our favorite was the Pearhu restaurant (go the fresh fish cooked in banana leaf) but the buffet at Bila Bila was great to with lots on offer.

Activities were great (tried sail boarding) but spa was even better… Great massage!

The shuttle to KL came in very handy on a crazy day shopping; malls in KL have every brand you could think of!” TrinityB651

“Stayed there for 1 night with my fiance, Pretty excited for this stay, because it looks amazing from Google Maps. Room was aging, But its big, plenty of space, and i notice that the bathroom was newly renovated, never ask any of the staff, but it looks new, and I totally appreciate it. Spend most of the time in the room, the air conditioning not cold enough, it was a very hot day. how ever the view was nice, manage to see sun sets from our rooms, totally spectacular. the restaurant look outdated.Pool is too small.. nice view from pool area though. Tv system is great, very cheap price for whole day access of movie. Anyhow, it was a great and memorable stay. definitely will come again, perhaps longer stay. Thanks to Fadzli from the front desk for assisting us, very nice and good gentleman.” Rudy_Azman

“My family and I thought we would have a change from going to Thailand (which we seem to go to every second year).

We’ve had some great holidays in Samui but though we would try somewhere different this time, so we decided to give the Golden Palm Tree a try. We have two boys aged 8 and 6 and fitting all of us in the one room is pretty essential (especially since most hotels won’t confirm adjoining rooms until you get there).

The drive to the Golden Palm Tree took about half an hour. On the way to the resort you go past all lots of traditional Malaysian country towns.

Once you get to the resort itself it seems much like a Thailand resort – lots of lush greenery and grass (which gives a really nice tropical feel). The villas sit above the ocean and make for quite a spectacular sight. (Personally, the overwater villas are maybe a little hyped, but the view of the sunset and ease of the water is fantastic).

We were taken to our villa by a buggy. It’s ideal for travelling with kids as the villa was really large (and quite private). It was nicely decorated with hardwood floors and a couple of chairs and a table on the balcony. There were two separate rooms – ours with a queen bed and a twin bedroom for the kids – a big improvement on squeezing on fold out beds or a sofa.

While hotel activities are usually a bit of a mirage, they were better at Golden Palm than almost anywhere outside a club med. My husband and the kids played some games on the beach and we swam in the infinity pool every day. The kids club played games with the boys while we went out for dinner and each had a massage. There is also an adventure park (but it is better for kids aged probably 10 and up, at 8 and 6 ours were a bit young).

We also went to Kuala Lumpur twice which is around an hour away. The first time we got the shuttle back at the end of the day, but the second time we decided to have a night out in the city and just caught a cab back to the resort.

The staff were friendly and overall, the resort was great value for money (probably slightly better than Thailand, and we found shopping in Malaysia certainly better than Thailand or Bali).

If travelling with kids, make sure to book a two bedroom villa as a one bedroom is really only suited for couples.” Jenny S
